Portuguese broadcaster SIC has approved the local adaptation of the local series Zalim Istanbul, whose international distribution is undertaken by Kanal D International.
The news was announced to Cveintiuno by Kanal D International’s International Sales and Strategy Director, Elif Tatoğlu, within the framework of LA Screenings Independents. SIC stated that it has already started production on the adaptation, which is planned to be released in June. Zalim Istanbul is planned to be adapted as a long-running soap opera.
Zalim Istanbul, produced by Avşar Film, premiered on Kanal D with its first episode in 2019 and completed its broadcast life with its 39th episode in June 2020. Cevdet Mercan, Gökçen Usta and Şenol Sönmez sat in the director’s chair of the series. Its cast includes Fikret Kuşkan, Deniz Uğur, Mine Tugay, Ozan Dolunay, Sera Kutlubey, Berker Güven, Simay Barlas, İdris Nebi Taşkan and Bahar Şahin.
