Portuguese broadcaster SIC has approved the local adaptation of the local series Zalim Istanbul, whose international distribution is undertaken by Kanal D International.

SIC stated that it has already started production on the adaptation, which is planned to be released in June. Zalim Istanbul is planned to be adapted as a long-running soap opera.

Zalim Istanbul, produced by Avşar Film, premiered on Kanal D with its first episode in 2019 and completed its broadcast life with its 39th episode in June 2020.
